Chris McCabe of CM Fox Real Estate partners with a colleague and fellow Watervliet native Eric Cruz from Cap Com Homeowners Advantage Mortgages to donate 200 pillows to Sleep in Heavenly Peace in March 2024 at the Watervliet Dome.
Chris McCabe donated 100 pillows to last year’s event, and enlisted Eric Cruz to help. The pair built beds during the event as well. The event goal was to build 30 beds and volunteers for this event have done this for 3 years now.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace builds beds and donates sheets, pillows and blankets to children who don’t have beds in the local community, and this event is one of many that they organize. Research shows that kids who sleep in beds as opposed to couches, air mattresses, etc perform better all around.
Chris McCabe, a Watervliet native and former Watervliet police officer, retired and has been a realtor for 17 years now. He gives back to Watervliet, Colonie and regional nonprofits all year long.
